MCC-Allegro - 18th January & 19th January - the PRODIGAL SON RETURNS

Well Well well, I have said enough of MCC and Allegro every week, but people always wanted to hear and read about games, who played , who won, how they won. This week we have one of our young guns returned to Allegro mood after some BIG Tourney. Its our Jack Puccini, the proud one man show of Brilliancy games submitter in every tournament he plays and he wins most of the time. Ya this week is all about Jack , He came back and won the allegro this week with a bang, sending the message to all others out there who have not played Allegro this week or played and lost to him.

27 players played Allegro on 18th Jan , some of them warming up before the cup weekender , some regulars who turn up only for allegro's. Some returned after Australian championship games, one of them is Jack Puccini. This unseen hurricane came like a wind , clean sweep all games and won like a sunshine & rain after the disaster and left impact like a tornado to every other regulars. People are in avenging mood next week.

here are list of Jack's Victims this week

Second rating group prize on Saturdays Allegro goes to Jacek Klukowski, the lone winner. Good and solid performance and his personal best. followed by david and Matthew chen.

I wish  I remember my game against Jack Hughes in final round, its a beauty , I can say. I was full knight down( mistake) and sacked my rook(Novelty) for position and able to capture back all pieces by forced moves. with a queen ,rook ending with 7th rank pawn and clear win in a classical poised pawn Sicilian .

Sundays Allegro didn't see much change in podium 1, 2    position, where 3rd spot was given to Vinicius Fagundes

congrats to Nathan, Gilberto and Vinicius.

Hopefully coming week there will come cool games, pics of more players and games. since Australian championship has completed, we expect the number to be at least 30+ in both days event.

MCC-Allegro - 4th January & 5th January - Double bonanza

MCC Allegro has taken its step to the next level. Every Sunday's Novice Allegro for players who are rated less than 1300. So here, we have review, reports and results for both the days in this entertaining blog. This week Saturday's allegro attracted 22 players. Where as the newbie Sunday's allegro attracted 8 players, which ended up having 5 rounds. That is fairly a good start for Novice Allegro, and this will continue every week from here on every Sunday at MCC by 2pm
